Beehive Necklace

Silver and gilded brass.

A piece of natural honeycomb composed of hexagonal wax cells, considered the architectural masterpiece of bees, has been directly cast in brass as if it were a lost-wax model. The casting process was difficult and the outcome was uncertain due to the very fine thickness of the cell walls; however, thanks to the experience of our collaborators, it has yielded exciting results.

The honeycomb, embellished using the traditional gilding technique, now becomes the central element of our creation, surrounded and protected by a myriad of burnished silver bees that make the necklace a sort of living piece of jewellery, full of buzz and life.
