Fox Skull Necklace

Gilded silver, fox skull and hydrothermal quartz in various colors.

The skull, purchased on the antiques market, was originally housed in the private collection of the twentieth-century Florentine painter, Alessandro Berti. We set out to make a piece of jewellery that would evolve into an element of natural and zoological wonder.

The skull had already been divided into two parts and polished. We positioned it in profile, virtually in the guise of a portrait on a medal, inserting it in a lost-wax cast necklace featuring laurel leaf-shaped elements that create volume and decoration, evoking the organic matrix and a certain tribal mood. Hydrothermal quartz provides the finishing touch on the necklace.
