Seafood Spaghetti Necklace

Gilded silver, Adriatic sea shells and cherry quartz

I wanted to make this necklace for quite some time. Its inherent sense of wonder stems from the fact that very simple Naturalia objects, such as shells from the Adriatic Sea that are usually regarded as rubbish, evolve into a sumptuous decoration in a contemporary piece of jewellery. Leftovers from a meal become precious, magically reversing their own destiny.

There is a transposition of meaning and a renewal of the intrinsic value of the shells, beautiful in their perfect natural volumes. It is an extremely conceptual necklace, which is rendered even more fascinating by the addition of small cherry quartz spheres.
